Welcome To A Dragons View

I am not an herp expert. However I currently share my home with 4 Bearded Dragons.
It all started over the spring of 2008. I saw an ad on the local Craig's List to adopt a Male Bearded Dragon for $90.00.

However, when I inquired, I was told that the male had died, and she had a female available for sale with a 40 gallon breeder cage. I had no idea what a 40 gallon breeder was???

So for $125.00 I purchased a 6 month old female Beardie that the people had named "Daisy". (I decided to keep the name they gave her as not to confuse the dragon!)

I NEVER had a reptile before. I read up on Bearded Dragons before I purchased Daisy, but NOTHING is the same as owning, and going through things for yourself.

I want to share what I am going through and experiencing with my dragons with you. I want you to share your experiences with me. I hope that this site will be a resource of help, and knowledge for ALL BEARDED DRAGON OWNERS.

Quick Tips

Produce Spoiling to fast?

Stores like to do 2 things. They like to "Water Down" their produce (to add weight to it, and make it look shiney.) 2. They LOVE to "Bunch". They put Parsley in bunches, Green Beans in netting, package up Zuchinni in 3 or 4 when you only need 1.

Here's a quick tip: TAKE ONLY WHAT YOU NEED.

Break up the Parsley, and find the item # and weigh it yourself.
Pull a group of 6 Banana's apart and keep 3.
Buy 1 single Zuchinni....
Take a handful of Green Beans not the 3 lbs. On Sale in the netting!

*****ANOTHER TIP*****
When you get home, DRY YOUR LETTUCE in a paper towel....
Then once it is dried, put the DRY LETTUCE on Aluminum Foil, roll it tight and keep it in the fridge.
I personally did this and 2 heads lasted for almost 1 month for 4 Dearded Dragons!

Gut impactions, as from mealworm / superworm chitin (hard shell /skin), can cause loss of appetite, rapid weight loss, dehydration, and lethargy in a Bearded Dragon.

Did you know that feeding your beardie tiny amounts of Vegtable Oil can help food in the digestive tract pass through easier?

(ALWAYS CALL OR SEE A VET IF YOU SUSPECT IMPACTION!) But if you cannot readily get to one, try the vegtable oil (tiny amount).
